Joel Bradley is a registered patent attorney with a practice focused on intellectual property matters involving electrical, mechanical, and software technologies. He represents a diverse range of clients, from Fortune 100 companies and emerging startups to universities and individual inventors, in all aspects of patent procurement, portfolio strategy, and IP transactions.

Joel’s patent prosecution experience spans a wide array of technologies, including artificial intelligence and machine learning (model training, model improvements, and applied AI systems), autonomous and electric vehicle technologies, automotive hardware and logistics systems, networking technologies (Wi-Fi, cellular, DOCSIS, and 802.11 standards), semiconductors, video encoding and decoding, blockchain systems, electrical power systems, HVAC technologies, security and surveillance systems, medical devices, routing algorithms, last-mile delivery systems, and consumer electronics. He works closely with in-house counsel and often manages matters independently from drafting through issuance.

In addition to prosecution, Joel provides strategic IP counseling, including freedom-to-operate analyses, patentability assessments, non-infringement opinions, and infringement claim charts. He also advises clients in transactional matters, including M&A due diligence, patent portfolio strength analyses, and drafting and negotiating license agreements and joint development agreements.

Joel brings valuable in-house perspective from his time as a full-time secondee at Meta Platforms, Inc., where he served in a product counsel role supporting engineering teams developing Metaverse technologies. He also served as a part-time secondee with Ford Motor Company, where he focused primarily on agreement preparation for third-party collaborations.
